Idyll’s Second Company Wide Team Event

On Monday June 27th, we hosted our second team event. The purpose of this team event was to show all 140 currently employed staff around our site, and enlighten them to the work of varying departments. Many staff had never experienced the work of varying departments or visited our off-site warehouse before.

There was five core presentations and tours that all staff experienced. A tour and explanation of our packaging hall was lead by Packaging Operations Manager Harry Makkar. His wealth of knowledge of our 5 packaging lines captured the minds of all staff as he explained the intricate process of every single packaging line.

Senior Winemaker Blair and Cellar Manager Taylor lead the team through a tour through of the vintage grape crushing process and explained the difference between red and white winemaking. The team was shown our cross-flow shed, 24 million litre tank farm and Laboratory Technician Jade explained the abundance of quality testing the laboratory team performs on a daily basis.

Sales Manager James presented the stats on the products we are capable of making and the countries and customers we serve. He shared insights on sustainable practices as well as his projections for the future of sales and what Idyll will evolve to become.

Elissa, Kelly, and Tayla shared presentation duties surrounding the work of the Admin team. They explained the nature of their roles in distributing stock around the nation, scheduling maintenance work, providing uniforms for all staff, processing payroll weekly, generating every sales invoice and maintaining accounts payable for 300+ creditors.

Ross our Packaging Coordinator and Team Mentor delved into what his team generates on a weekly basis alongside all the intricate details they manage to ensure dry goods (cardboard, bottles, cans, kegs, labels, shrink wrap etc) are on-site ready for each packaging run. Ross also shared insights into how his team generates the company-wide packaging schedule that perfectly balances the needs of our customers, the capabilities of our cellar team and the availability of our packaging lines.

Logistics Manager Kaine and Warehouse Supervisor Elliott toured the team around our impeccably organised offsite warehouse. Kaine and Elliott explained how dispatch lanes are utilised, the average amount of trucks per day that dispatch stock around the nation, and explained our paperless warehousing operations system. Our warehouse gave our team a visual representation of the scale of products we produce.

Idyll joined together all 140 staff for a family roast lunch. We thank Robbo’s Roasts and Dal Café & Catering for catering for our crew. Our family lunch was an opportunity to enjoy each others company, engage with other departments and hear from Executive Director Michael Birthisel on Idyll’s company values, what it means to be an Idyll employee and where Idyll is headed.

Big things are coming to Idyll, and we look forward to our staff being a huge part of that. If you’re looking to join the Idyll family, check out our careers page.
