Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance at IDL

At IDL, quality and food safety are central to every decision we make. We are proudly certified to the BRC Global Standard, one of the most respected and comprehensive food safety frameworks in the world. Our Quality Assurance program is also aligned with the principles of HACCP and GMP ensuring robust control across every stage of production.

The QA program is overseen by our Quality Assurance Manager, Nat, who is responsible for maintaining certification, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance across the site. Supporting this, IDL operates a fully equipped on-site laboratory, overseen by our Laboratory Manager, Rhianne, where every product is rigorously tested to confirm it meets specification before release.

To uphold our BRC certification, IDL operates a fully integrated Quality Management System, which includes routine internal audits, documented control systems, and yearly unannounced third-party audits. We are also a member of SEDEX, demonstrating our commitment to ethical business practices and transparency, with independent ethical audits conducted as required.

Food Safety Programs

A robust HACCP program underpins our entire food safety system. This program is managed on-site, regularly reviewed, and implemented across all production lines. The entire HACCP team at IDL are formally trained and certified, ensuring deep knowledge and accountability across all areas of production. Our CEO, Andrew, and QA Manager, Nat, also bring extensive expertise and leadership to the program.

Critical control points are in place across production to safeguard the integrity of every product. These are supported by comprehensive prerequisite programs, covering allergen management, cleaning and sanitation, supplier approval, pest control, food defence, fraud prevention, and site-wide security measures. This ensures every beverage produced at IDL is safe, consistent, and of the highest quality.

Customer Quality Standards

IDL adheres to the quality standards established by our customers to the highest level. This includes partaking in yearly site wide audits as facilitated by our customers quality team.

GMP and Food Safety Culture

All staff at IDL are trained annually in HACCP and GMP and are active participants in our strong food safety culture. This culture is built on shared responsibility, where every team member, from production to management, plays a role in maintaining and improving quality standards. The result is a workplace where compliance is standard, and exceeding expectations is the goal.
