QUALITY ASSURANCE

IDL operates to one of the highest of world quality assurance standards - British Retail Consortium Standard (BRC). To meet these standards, we have a fully incorporated quality management system and internal audit protocol. We undergo yearly unannounced external audits that ensure we are consistently achieving outstanding quality control.

IDL are also members of Sedex and partake in ethical audits as required. Our most recent Sedex audit was completed in 2023.

IDL operates an extensive HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program that all staff are effectively trained in. Across our packaging facility, we have two key critical control points. One is the rinsing and inversion stage located on both bottling lines where every bottle is rinsed with nitrogen and air to ensure there are no remaining particles in the bottle. The second is the rinsing and inversion stage on both canning lines, where every can is cleaned with air before being filled with product. Chief Executive Officer Andrew and Quality Assurance Officer Nat are both formally HACCP certified, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. IDL controls our own HACCP manual which is adhered to site wide.

EXTENSIVE HACCP PROGRAM

All staff sitewide are annually trained in Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) which is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. These principles and standards are adhered to site wide. Additionally, all staff present a thriving food safety culture.

CUSTOMER QUALITY STANDARDS

IDL adheres to the quality standards established by our customers to the highest level. This includes partaking in yearly site wide audits as facilitated by our customers quality team.

The IDL site facilitates and controls a number of procedures and programs to ensure top standards of product quality. This includes supplier approval for new suppliers, site wide pest control, food defense, prohibiting food fraud, food safety standard cleaning, allergen controls and site-wide security (both indoors and outdoors). Our quality control, purchasing and beverage manufacturing team have built strong relationships with our raw material suppliers (both packaging and liquid), ensuring that we have compliance across the board.

PRE-REQUISITE PROGRAMS

The Senior Management team at IDL is committed to ensuring the quality standards at IDL are not only adhered to, but improved on a regular basis. IDL continues to invest in upgrading machinery and processes to raise the quality standard, as well as develop new internal positions to further foster this commitment.

ON-SITE LABORATORY

IDL has a fully operational laboratory that ensures our products are produced to specification on time, every time. The Laboratory is equipped to run a range of trials and is an integral part of our innovation agenda. IDL’s team of Laboratory Technicians complete pre, during and post packaging testing - such tests include alcohol %, pH, total acidity, turbidity, Glucose-Fructose (residual sugars), specific gravity, Co2, Do2 and carbonation. A range of laboratory testing is also completed during the fermentation and creation process for every wine, cider and rtd product, and for each delivery of grapes during yearly Vintage periods.
