Kegged Cocktails

A visit to your local bar or restaurant will demonstrate the range of beverages that can be found on tap. Whilst on tap beverages used to be exclusively beer and cider, before seltzer was introduced, but there is a new trend. Pre-made cocktails can now be found on tap at many pubs, clubs and even restaurants. In this article we list four reasons why kegged cocktails is an innovative concept more venues should adopt.

1 . Time saving for bar tenders

Making cocktails from scratch during a busy service period is time consuming task, utilising a number of ingredients located around the bar. Having premade cocktails on tap ensures customers receive their beverages in an efficient manner, but that they’re also of high quality. Kegging cocktails can lead to greater profits for the venue as cocktails are produced at a more efficient rate.

2. Taste consistency across larger batches

When drinking cocktails, each drink crafted by a bar tender may taste slightly different as volumes of ingredients vary slightly. Kegged cocktails enables for consistency across larger batches of product. Regardless of the level of skill or experience of the bar tender, the cocktails will taste the same every time which is a positive for both the venue and the customers.

3. Product sampling for customers

Cocktail preferences are unique for each consumer, and it is always disappointing to spend around $20 on a cocktail that is not enjoyable. Having the cocktail on tap gives consumers the opportunity to taste test the beverage before purchasing, allowing for a more trusted experience for the consumer.

4. More affordable

Cocktails on tap are generally slightly less expensive than cocktails made from scratch by a bartender. As mentioned above, kegged cocktails take less time to pour than ones made from scratch. This also means it costs the venue less for each cocktail poured. Economies of scale also apply, meaning the bigger the batch of cocktails made, the less they cost to produce. The same litres worth of a keg is going to be cheaper to produce than the same amount of liquid as a single cocktails. These cost savings can be passed onto the consumer, making kegged cocktails a cheaper option both for the venue and the consumer.
