Sharing Geelong Wine with The World

Based in Lara, our Warehouse and Logistics Team are the critical conduit between our manufacturing facility and Idyll Wine Co customers all over the world. Logistics Coordinator Kaine’s team including Chris, Elliott, Greg and Wazza are the gatekeepers for every bottle of wine and canned brew produced at our Moorabool site. The Lara team share some impressive insights ahead of continued business expansion in 2021 and a plethora of new products on the horizon.

What kinds of products move through the Lara warehouse?

Kaine: Almost all wine, cider and ready to drink products (like seltzers and spirits) come to the Lara warehouse. We also store packaging items here such as cardboard boxes, empty cans and bottle lids.

How much storage capacity does the warehouse have?

Kaine: We can store over 5,500 pallets!

What happens on a regular day at the warehouse?

Elliott: Lots of preparation happens in the lead up to dispatching an order. We are constantly managing an ever-evolving landscape of products and packaging items.

Greg: Loading trucks to send finished products to various distribution centers and unloading our Idyll Wine Co truck which brings product from our Moorabool manufacturing facility.

How many trucks come to and from the warehouse each day?

Kaine: Over 30 trucks can arrive at our warehouse in a single day during our busiest times. It can be very demanding, but our highly skilled forklift drivers can load a 22 pallet truck in 15 minutes.

What do you like most about working at Idyll Wine Co?

Wazza: I love that is Australian owned and operated and really like the people I work with and the friendly culture.

Greg: I enjoy driving the forklift and working with a good team.

Elliott: The opportunity it provides to contribute to and expand with an ever-growing business.
